Super Smoothie recipe

Super smoothies are designed to be personalized and to make use of ingredients you have lying around, while also providing you with an easily digestible, nutritional boost!

The ultimate in convenience and satisfaction! Super smoothies are designed to be personalized and to make use of ingredients you have lying around, while also providing you with an easily digestible, nutritional boost!

To get your smoothie making adventures started I would like to share my tribes favourite flavour combination. This banana-based super smoothie will leave you feeling satisfied and will support your digestive, heart and kidney health.

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

400mlMilk of your choice^
2Frozen bananas
75 gramsFrozen spinach (or kale)*
2Organic medjool dates
¼ cupNatural coconut yoghurt
1 tbsPeanut butter (heaped tbs)
1-2 tbsVanilla protein powder (optional)

Tips: Smoothies are best served soon after making (especially when frozen ingredients like spinach/kale have been used, as the flavour strengthens through defrosting).

When buying peanut butter, avoid the options with added sugar and oil.

Directions:

1. Add all the ingredients to a 900ml blender cup.

2. Blend on high speed for 1 minute or until smooth.

3. Portion the smoothie into large glasses/jars with wide metal straws and enjoy!

^ Plant based milks work wonderfully in smoothies. Recommendations: 1) Best flavour goes to Bonsoy soy milk and 2) Healthiest option goes to Vitasoy Protein Plus soy milk with no added sugar or oil.

*The best frozen spinach for smoothies is the finely diced individual portions by Bells Farms or Birds Eye. 75grams is the equivalent of 4-5 individual portions. The kale portions are a great choice too.
