Avirida – Eyes Up Here

Gold + Editor's Choice
Formulated from excellent non-toxic ingredients. Includes cucumber and rosehip oil in an apricot kernel and calendula oil base.
Avirida makes all their products, packaging, containers, shipping boxes and cardboard jar seals in-house at their factory in rural NSW. The brand does not import any materials from overseas and their employees are paid above award rates. Avirida uses certified organic ingredients, sourced from Australia wherever possible. The brand is 100% certified cruelty free and palm oil free.
Avirida laser cut their own shipping boxes from discarded cardboard they collect from local supermarkets and cafes. They also make their own skincare containers from salvaged/storm damaged logs sourced from their local area. These skincare containers are 100% compostable, reusable, and refillable. The brand uses scrap paper from local schools to print their shipping labels and make their own natural glue (using corn starch and glucose syrup) to stick them on their upcycled boxes. Avirida uses a solar-powered kiln to dry their timber, are a zero-waste factory and reuse materials they receive. In addition, they ship 100% plastic-free and have a refill program where the customer can receive a 20% discount for returning their pot for a refill. Avirida is a carbon negative business (better than carbon neutral), due to the number of trees they plant and the negligible amount of freight involved in their operations.
Avirida plants thousands of trees all around the world, as well as in their own town. They also give back through their partnership with Trees for the Future, who support families in Africa through planting thousands of trees that protect and bring nutrients back to the soil. This helps farmers grow a variety of fruits and vegetables, increasing their income and access to food - all while improving the environment. In addition, the brand reduces the waste of other businesses in their own town by taking others cardboard and scrap paper and turning them into shipping boxes & labels.

What our experts say...

What I liked most about this product was the smell and the feeling of the wooden container. I really appreciate every detail of the product from using recycled damaged logs for packaging to being carbon negative. This company really pushes to be as sustainable as possible and that really resonates with me.

Obsessed! The packaging is revolutionary. Iconic. Beyond innovative. The packaging alone wins this contest. The product is beautiful and I was already a loyal customer, as I love this product and it is so so so effective!!

Love this product. It’s so soothing and it wasn’t until I started using it that I realised I really needed it! The skin around my eyes looks better and it’s a beautiful treat to add into my routine. I love the effort and unique approach to packaging and the upcycling of both the wooden containers and supermarket boxes.

Captivating in its beauty, this luxuriously nourishing eye balm rests in an engraved wooden pot, made from salvaged logs. Rich in collagen promoting calendula, I love applying this at night around my eyes and feel it really lessens the look of fine lines by morning. I really appreciate that this formulation is water free as it saves on unnecessary packaging as well as allowing it to be preservative free.
