What our experts say...
I really liked the size of the product so that I could easily rub my fingers onto it and spread it evenly where needed. It has a very pleasant subtle smell and doesn’t feel too oily on the skin. I felt good about putting organic ingredients onto my skin and especially as a lip balm. Black Chicken seem committed to using natural, cruelty free and vegan ingredients. I also appreciated the use of 100% recyclable packaging.

This balm is fantastic! I loved the smell and the consistency of it. It was nourishing and I loved the fact that I could use it on my hands, feet, elbows – anything that was dry. I suffer from some pretty awful eczema on my hands and feet and this balm was nourishing and helped my hands feel a lot better. I love that Black Chicken are involved in TerraCycle – incentivising people to recycle their packaging is a great way to encourage people to think about the waste they produce and how it can be recycled.
I love that this has been so specifically formulated to be a cure-all balm and that it contains powerhouse ingredients from so many channels of traditional medicinal wisdom in one. Gentle enough to be a lip balm or used on a baby’s skin and yet it is actively soothing enough to effectively calm an itch. This has become the product my children ask for to make everything better – what a lifesaver.
The balm feels moisturising without being overly sticky. Reading the ingredients list, I’m pleased to recognise most of the plants it came from. I think the brand’s Social Responsibility statement definitely creates an impression that the product is safe and I appreciate Black Chicken doing a lot of education around toxins in the beauty industry. As a TerraCycle user I support the buy back/discount for exchange system.
