They maintain policies that emphasise integrity, respect and accountability towards vulnerable communities and are responsive to suggestions for improvement, aiming for inclusivity and user-friendliness. Composed primarily of women, Eeenee fosters a supportive work environment and practices a dog-friendly workplace with initiatives that promote collaboration and mental health.
Eenee Nappies aims to transform nappy waste into a renewable resource, promoting nutrient recycling back into soil instead of landfills and advocating for a circular economy. Their eco-friendly products include the first ‘plastic-free’ nappy option with compostable insert pads, packaged in paper for zero waste disposal. The brand utilises sustainable hydroelectricity, works towards carbon neutrality and maintains a carbon-neutral website while minimising office energy use. They promote a zero-waste policy with a veggie garden, recycling practices and the use of compostable shipping materials. Eenee reduces paper use through digital communications and supports remote work and walking meetings. They provide a 50-micron laundry bag to filter microfibers, use FSC-certified sustainable pulp for nappies and advocate for small sustainability efforts, partnering with Ecosia to plant trees through internet searches.
Eenee has been creating environmentally responsible products for over three decades, believing that sustainability and social responsibility are interconnected. On Norfolk Island, Eenee Nappies are the preferred choice, as they can be composted locally instead of being shipped off for landfill disposal. In the South Pacific, where 27% of household waste consists of disposable nappies, the brand helps prevent plastic waste at the source. In Samoa, trials to deliver, collect and compost Eenee nappies in villages are providing solutions to plastic waste while creating local employment and producing high-quality compost. Each 100 babies using Eenee nappies eliminate 700kg of plastic waste weekly. The brand emphasises education to empower parents and communities regarding composting and resource recycling. They aim to reduce the 6 million nappies used daily in Australia that contribute to landfills, advocating for sustainable alternatives to petrochemical fertilisers.

Product Reviews by Experts

I love the concept of these reusable nappies, I can see why so many people use cloth/reusable nappies vs disposable nappies and brands like this are great if you want that option. I like that there are 2 size options when it comes to the nappy pant itself and knowing that the insert is plastic free and compostable. I’m blown away by the statements and don’t even know where to begin, they’ve really covered all of their bases and tick all of the boxes when it comes to being an ethical and sustainable brand. A carbon neutral website and zero waste office, the products are never tested on animals and are compostable, all the work they do in communities, I truely am amazed by how ethical this brand is!

I really love the concept of this product. It fills an important gap for families who might not be able to commit to full-time cloth but still want something with a significantly lower environmental impact than disposables. The system was easy to use for me, as we’ve had experience with cloth nappies before, so the outer shell and insert combo felt familiar and straightforward. The fit was good and the pads were soft and absorbent. I can see how this could be a great long-term solution for the right family. Eenee clearly puts a huge amount of thought and energy into the full lifecycle of their product. From the plastic-free inserts and paper packaging to their partnerships with composting facilities and efforts in remote communities, it feels like they’re genuinely trying to create change- not just for individual families, but on a much bigger systems level. Their transparency around materials, commitment to ethical manufacturing and long-standing work in the sustainability space make them feel deeply rooted in purpose rather than trend. I also appreciated the effort to include broader social values, like inclusion and workplace wellbeing.

What I loved most about the Eenee nappy is that it’s home compostable. Disposable nappies usually contribute so much to landfill, which is really disheartening for the environment. Being able to compost the Eenee nappy inserts at home felt like a fun and rewarding solution to a big waste problem. As a busy mum who often falls behind on laundry (which I don’t enjoy), it was great to find a disposable option that aligns with my love for gardening and composting. It’s such a smart, eco-friendly choice for mums like me. What impresses me most about Eenee Nappies’ ethical, sustainable, and social responsibility efforts is their commitment to transforming nappy waste into a valuable resource that supports soil health- a cause close to my heart as an avid gardener. Their work with the composting industry, local councils, NGOs and the EPA shows a serious dedication to creating real change, not just greenwashing. I deeply appreciate their focus on closing the loop and reframing nappies from waste to a renewable resource that can actually improve soil quality. Healthy soil is the foundation of everything we grow and knowing that used nappies can contribute positively to it is both exciting and inspiring. Just as importantly, the fact that their materials are independently tested and certified by OKEO TEX Standard 100 Annex 6 gives me confidence that the product is truly safe for my son’s delicate skin- something I won’t compromise on!
