SILVER
Best Disposable Nappies 2026

$18.95

Comfy Koalas nappies contain bamboo for breathability, corn starch for moisture wicking and sustainable wood pulp for absorbency. They do not contain nappy rash causing irritants.

Made from excellent, non-toxic materials. Premium biodegradable bamboo, FSC-certified wood pulp and corn starch liner. Dermatologically tested and Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA) approved. Home compostable packaging.
Comfy Koalas sources materials from Japan, Germany and China and selected a specialist manufacturer in Fujian Province, China after personally inspecting several factories and their processes, choosing their partner for ethical workplace practices, bamboo specialism and environmental certifications, including Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certification. The brand uses independently certified FSC ingredients and independently tests its nappies at SGS Labs, EUROFINS Australia and DermaTest to ensure standards are met.
Comfy Koalas produces nappies made from mostly renewable and biodegradable materials, with the majority derived from bamboo and has increased plant-based content in its Next Gen design to over 80%. The brand uses no unsafe inks, dyes, or harmful chemicals and sources chlorine-free wood pulp. Packaging is 100% certified home compostable, made from GMO-free corn starch and has eliminated over one million plastic packages. Ingredients are FSC certified and the brand works exclusively with Certified B Corps focused on sustainability.
Comfy Koalas donated 25,000 nappies in 2025 to the Nappy Collective, supporting mums affected by natural disasters, domestic violence and hardship, bringing their total donation to 389,000 nappies. The brand collaborated with NSW hospitals to develop bespoke premature nappies for NICUs, aiming to provide gentler, plant-based options for vulnerable babies. Comfy Koalas uses Forest Stewardship Council® certified ingredients to support ethical supply chains and forest communities and consistently represents ethnic diversity in its marketing, with families of colour making up the majority of its content.

Product Reviews by Experts

Comfy Koalas have clearly invested in continuous product iteration with the move to 80%+ plant-based materials, the PLA corn starch liner for faster moisture wicking, and the increased absorbency to 1.4L. This demonstrates a brand that treats development as an ongoing commitment (which I love), as no one gets everything perfect the first time around! The FSC-certified bamboo and wood pulp, completely free from chlorine, alcohol, perfumes, synthetic inks and heavy metals, sets a formulation standard that exceeds most conventional nappies. And independent testing shows 70% of the nappy biodegrades in just 45 days (that is a claim backed by evidence, not just marketing). These fit our newborn so well, had no leaks and I really appreciate the simplicity of the design. They feel “clean from chemicals”. The 100% certified home compostable packaging made from GMO-free corn starch – reportedly an Australian first – is a genuinely significant milestone. Donating 389,000 nappies to The Nappy Collective since inception, creating bespoke premature nappies for NICU wards across NSW hospitals, and representing ethnic diversity as a majority rather than a minority in their marketing reflects a brand whose social responsibility is structural, not superficial.

The bamboo and corn starch combination makes for a genuinely soft feel and keeps my son dry for much longer than Huggies. The moisture wicking is excellent and we have had far fewer rash issues since using them. They are also really easy to put on, the attachment to the nappy arms is fantastic. You can wear these nappies overnight; they are awesome. I love that the packaging is so easy to dispose of. What stands out most about Comfy Koalas is that the founders personally visited and vetted their manufacturing partner before committing to working with them. The nappy is made from the most sustainable, fastest-growing bamboo. They have also donated nearly 400,000 nappies to charity, which is amazing.

These nappies felt soft and comfortable and performed well without irritation. Absorbency was strong and the fit suited active babies.
