Formulated with excellent clean ingredients.
Leapful operates an award-winning regenerative practice farm in Tasmania, Australia, where goats are raised alongside their kids and milked once a day to produce cheese, with lactic whey as a key ingredient. The farm creates an oil-in-water emulsion cream using expired, locally grown extra virgin olive oil, while local growers provide essential oils. Palm oil is excluded and additional ingredients are sourced from olives and corn. The cream is manufactured on-site, minimising carbon emissions. The farm, after offsetting its own carbon footprint, sequesters enough carbon to offset the emissions of 65 average Australian households. Leapful's goat farming practices include seasonal milking for nine months, maintaining does with their kids, keeping retired goats and following organic practices.
Over 85% of the product is locally sourced, with minimal carbon miles, as whey and 65% of the cream are transported from the cheesery to the manufacturing workshop by foot. The farm, where cheese and skin care products are manufactured, is carbon negative, sequestering more carbon than it emits, offsetting the emissions of 65 average Australian households after accounting for its own footprint. Photovoltaic solar panels and solar hot water systems provide energy for production. The cream is made from what are considered waste products, transformed into a luxurious face cream, with essential oils distilled locally specifically for this purpose. Furthermore, the face cream is packaged in recyclable glass jars and postal mailers, along with padding, are compostable.
Kate is the president of the Bream Creek Farmer's Market, a volunteer organisation that regularly receives donations from Leapful products and Tongola Cheese for various fundraising events such as the Variety Chefs Appeal and Bream Creek Show. The market hosts not-for-profit workshops and events with ongoing partnerships with organisations like the University of Tasmania and Landcare Tasmania. Kate and her team are frequently invited to speak at events about sustainable farming practices. Leap Farm, where the goats are raised and cheese is produced, employs two women, including a new migrant from Indonesia. Additionally, Kate is a doctor in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Hobart Hospital, providing community support in crises.

Product Reviews by Experts

This hand cream is soft, feels luxurious, smells amazing (I love those Australian ingredients), was easily absorbed by my skin and leaves no sticky residue on my hands after using. This is such a good example of regenerative farming practices which ensures no byproduct is wasted. Also the fact that Kate employs women who can’t easily get work without much Australian experience is such a great start. Please keep supporting people like this!

I like that this hand cream is soothing- it feels rich and absorbed quickly without feeling greasy. It’s great that the aluminium tin is reusable- makes it easy to refill or reuse. It’s great that this hand cream is handcrafted entirely on a carbon-neutral Tasmanian farm, using whey from their own goats and simple plant ingredients- So cool! The returnable/recyclable aluminium tin also keeps packaging impact low.

I love how effective this cream is at soothing and restoring dry, tired skin. It’s calming and smells beautiful, perfect for anyone who suffers from dry skin in winter, or after doing crafts, lifting at the gym etc. It’s quickly become a go-to! Leapful’s involvement in their local community- through farmer’s markets, fundraising and donations is absolutely amazing. True commitment to sustainability starts at home and in our own backyards. It’s also amazing seeing a small business employ diverse staff and stepping up in their local community.
