Juniper Skincare – Calming Treatment Serum

This is one of the largest format “serums” you’ll find on the market, which I applaud! There’s nothing more unsustainable than throwing out tons of tiny beauty packaging. This might be because this serum is meant for both the face and the body, but regardless it’s great value for money. It has the texture of a face oil thanks to the jojoba base and two pumps was enough to cover the face, neck and decollete in a soothing, irritation-free layer that was the perfect medium for massaging my face after washing it in the evening. My usual redness seemed to be calmer in the morning, probably due to the calendula, chamomile and lavender. With my hyper-sensitive skin most serums and actives are off limits, but this one didn’t cause a lick of stinging, tightness, heat or redness and I keep gravitating back to it even with other products to use. I visited my dermatologist one morning after applying it with a makeup free face and he told me I looked “incredibly fresh”, which is high praise indeed!

I also admire their dedication to keeping as local a supply chain as possible, even when it doesn’t benefit their bottom line and the fact that they develop relationships with the growers providing many of their ingredients is great!

This oil absorbs well into the skin and leaves a beautiful sheen. It has a minimal ingredient list which you can actually read and understand and does not contain any fragrance making it perfect for sensitive skin types.

It’s also clear that Juniper Skincare has strong ethics when it comes to ingredients and packaging. I love that they use organic ingredients to minimise any chemical impact on the environment and people.

This is a beautiful calming serum that absorbed straight in and settled my upset skin. It smells great and doesn’t irritate my eyes like many oil serums do. It comes in a great bottle that is easy to read and use. I also appreciate that the brand is; Holistic, plant based and sustainably focused!
