Koala Eco Australian Made and Owned products aim to follow the strongest possible eco-friendly credentials and are certified non-toxic, vegan/plant-based and cruelty free. The brand's products are also Made Safe certified and allergy certified. Koala Eco uses Australian essential oils, because these, when combined with other non-toxic ingredients like vinegar, plant-based surfactants, sugar-based biodegradable alcohol and bicarbonate soda are great alternatives to caustic cleaning products. Sourcing Australian essential oils helps support local communities and economies.
Sustainable
All Koala Eco’s products are natural and biodegradable, with no toxic chemicals harming the environment, wildlife, and marine life when these products are washed down the drain. The native Australian botanicals used in Koala Eco products are also locally sourced from Down Under Enterprises, who grow traceable and sustainable Australian essential oils and botanicals, harvest rainwater, use 100% renewable energy and have an established eucalyptus Koala corridor on the farm. Koala Eco products come in 100% recycled and recyclable packaging, meaning no new plastic is used and the bottles can be recycled into new packaging. So far, the brand estimates to have saved over 25,000kg of plastic through our recycled and recyclable production methods.

Koala Eco are partnered with 1% for the Planet, meaning a portion of every Koala Eco product sold contributes to protecting the land, forests, rivers, oceans, and wildlife, supporting sustainable food systems, and tackling issues surrounding climate change and pollution. The brand also supports Port Stephens Koalas & WWF Australia. Koala Eco was one of the first businesses to be invited to re-badge as a .eco company by the Vancouver-based .eco movement, launched by two former United Nations Environment Programme staffers. Koala Eco are therefore part of a worldwide coalition of environmentally sensitive organisations committed to sustainable practices.

I really love the label of the bottle – and it’s nice not to see fluorescent, radioactive-looking liquid on my sink! The pump action was really easy to use. I liked that it bubbled up a fair bit and the smell of it was lovely. It was also really gentle on my hands. My husband especially commented on this as his skin is prone to skin reactions/eczema and he didn’t have any reaction when doing the dishes; given that, there are now no more excuses for my husband to not do the dishes which is to say that this dish soap can even improve a marriage!
Clearly a lot of thought has gone into all the elements of this product and I love their dedication to natural ingredients. They have really thought about the charities and it’s touching that they donate to their Koala-y namesakes. It ticks all the boxes when it comes to the ingredients used and it is impressive how they’ve been able to keep it very natural. I really appreciated the focus on local ingredients and the consideration around that.

Cutting through grease easily, I find that a little of this dish soap goes a really long way. I love the zesty, fresh mandarin scent that now accompanies the washing up! I really appreciate that the bottle is made of recycled plastic and that I can purchase larger refills.

Having dish soap in a pump pack makes perfect sense. So easy to use and helps reduce waste (a pump is controlled – a squirt can get crazy and wasteful!) I love the mandarin oil in this product – not only was washing up easy and there were plenty of bubbles, but the smell was divine – so uplifting while washing up! Beautiful focus on the Australian environment and ingredients.
