Ethical

Nat'v Basics sources their LENZING™ Modal fabric from a sustainable Beech tree forest in Austria and manufactures the biobased fibre using an environmentally responsible process. They use GOTS certified cotton in another range and nylon made with 93% recycled materials in another. Their undies are made in Hefei, China, with suppliers who are hand-selected, BSCI certified and rigorously tested for compliance with the brand's social responsibility principles.

Sustainable

Nat'v Basics plants one tree for every order and ensures that all deliveries are carbon neutral. Their Gold Coast headquarters has implemented sustainable measures, such as using a battery-powered forklift, installing skylights to reduce lighting needs, composting and reducing plastic bottle usage. They use reusable and compostable shipping materials and their tissue paper and stickers are also compostable and printed with soy-based ink on FSC-certified acid-free paper. The brand uses low impact dyes that don't contain toxic chemicals and require less water during production.

Responsible

Nat'v Basics has partnered with Greenspark to offer an 'Impact' for every order placed on its website, which includes options such as having a plastic bottle collected on the customer's behalf, planting a tree or offsetting carbon. The brand has also donated to organizations such as OzHarvest, planted over 2000 trees in Australia with One Tree Planted and partnered with Thread Together to donate $1 for every pair of limited edition shoes sold.

It is so buttery soft on the skin and the thong doesn’t feel like it’s riding up. I am also impressed that the brand uses sustainable innovative material like Modal that is GOTS certified – usually this type of material has a quite high price point, but Nat’v is quite reasonably priced for a sustainable underwear.

I love the colour, design and fabrication. I don’t love wearing G-Strings personally but these were pretty comfy regardless. I also like the transparency that they’re made in China but they still have rigorous standards when it comes to production. I also like the Greenspark collaboration – giving the power to the consumer is a fantastic idea. I love the website and comms- they’re really clear, on brand, sophisticated yet approachable.
