Nina’s Bees – Natural Soap with Honey and Beeswax

Formulated from excellent, non-toxic ingredients. Includes organic olive, coconut and castor oils, organic babassu and shea butters, honey, beeswax & organic calendula.
Nina is a beekeeper who uses beeswax and honey from her apiary to create all products in the Nina’s Bees range. Organic methods are applied to tendering bees, with no plastic frames, bees excluders or chemical pest control in the hives. The ethical and sustainable manufacturing practices of all oils used are also guaranteed by Native Oils of Australia. This includes the development of sustainable farms, in-house batch testing and accountable warehouse management.
Products are packaged in recyclable aluminium, glass and cardboard. Recycled boxes are used for packing orders, which are sent via a carbon-neutral delivery service. Nina’s Bees has also implemented a return for refill program and generates 0% plastic waste in the manufacturing of products. Furthermore, unlike in conventional beekeeping, all hives were born from natural swarms and all colonies are allowed to build their own comb.
Nina’s Bees is actively involved in the rescue and rehoming of wild bees from public spaces. Nina educates children on the importance of bees to our ecosystems by conducting bee talks at local schools, offering tips on how to grow bee-friendly gardens. Furthermore she is a part of the " Inspiring the Future" project where representatives from different industries meet with high school students to discuss career paths.

What our experts say...

The beautiful bee embossing makes this soap a work of art and almost too pretty to use, but I am really glad I did! When activated with water, the soap builds into a beautiful lather and is nice and creamy so it nourishes the skin without drying it out. I also really appreciate how there is zero waste – everything is packaged in recyclable materials, including repurposed packaging and the soap itself has no excess packaging or ingredients that don’t break down while in use. As someone who tries to attract more bees into my garden to help with the natural ecosystem, it makes me so happy that Nina’s Bees has such a sustainable and holistic approach to beekeeping, causing no stress or harm to the bees! The formulation of the products also ticks all my boxes as it uses natural and non-toxic organic ingredients that are good for our bodies and the planet.

I just love how tactile the soap is, and how on theme the embossed bees are with their different detailed poses of bee’s flight. Also the smell is great! A bit of disclosure, I’ve reviewed Nina’s bees products before and her business is sort of local to me. In general, I tend to support local NSW businesses as part of my consumer choices. I also love how Nina is applying the circular principles throughout her business practice from the supply-chain to local projects on bee-keeping education. It’s a good example of how a business can minimise their impact on the ecosystem which we depend on to get what we need.

I deeply appreciated that it came in an upcycled CD box – so great! Maybe others would have appreciated a fancier package but I was delighted by the reuse (and don’t worry – I will reuse it too!). Soap? No – This is art! Such a gorgeous gift and smelt good enough to eat! I was touched by the care taken with the bee’s. I feel that even vegans who care deeply about the health and happiness of the bee;s would be satisfied with their treatment and would consider using this product.
