The brand handpicks suppliers and manufacturers in India who meet international standards for responsible garment production and regularly visit their manufacturers and organic cotton farms to ensure good business and fair employment practices. Additionally, their suppliers are SEDEX members who utilize regular SEDEX audit processes to maintain ethical practices. All of these certifications and checks ensure that their customers can have peace of mind knowing that their baby can play, sleep, and grow safely.

Sustainable

Paul and Paulie is undergoing a rebranding process to reflect their brand values and commitment to ethical, responsible, and sustainable practices. They design baby and children's clothes using 100% organic Indian cotton while minimizing fabric wastage through small-batch production and using leftovers to make face cloths. Their manufacturer uses the Zero Liquid Discharge water saving technique for pollution-free garment dying, and their garments are shipped using FSC-certified cardboard cartons and compostable polybags. They also use 100% compostable plant-based packaging and reduce packaging where possible, using eco-conscious practices in their home-office and giving customers the choice to minimize paper bag use at local markets.

Responsible

Paul and Paulie has a philosophy of giving back to their wider community, and they are currently partnering with local agencies in and around Greater Auckland to provide much needed assistance to those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. They work with charities such as Shining Light Community Trust and Bare Necessities Charity to relieve poverty and assist families undergoing physical and financial hardship. They also gift their organic cotton garments to new mums and babies through the Middlemore Hospital Trust. The wellbeing of their farmers and staff at their manufacturing units in India is also critical to them.

This bodysuit is lovely, soft and doesn’t leave any irritation on my newborn’s skin. The snap buttons are firm and sturdy and open and shut easily! I also like the fact that it is hypoallergenic, made without any colours and uses organic cotton.

This is a gorgeous bodysuit which is ideal for warmer weather or as an under-layer. It is perfect for babies with sensitive skin or eczema as it is super soft and highly breathable, thanks to its beautiful pointelle knit and being 100% organic cotton. The design is highly functional and it’s easy to get on and off and button up, even in the middle of the night – Highly recommended!
