Papermoon products are never tested on animals and are 100% vegan. The brand manufactures locally in Melbourne, uses fully compostable and 100% plastic-free packaging and ships in recyclable packaging. They currently ship empty tubes from China and offset freight-related carbon emissions through Carbon Positive Australia. Emissions from their largely solar-powered home office and other business activities are also offset.
Papermoon focuses on luxury personal care products packaged in plastic-free, compostable paper tubes, eliminating the use of over 10,000 plastic containers in their first year. They ship and store their stock in 100% recycled board and utilise a thermal label printer and paper-based packaging tape in their office. Their products are free of aluminium and harsh chemicals, minimising environmental impact and adhering to clean ingredient standards. The home office runs on solar power and they utilise an electric vehicle for deliveries, often opting for bicycle deliveries for local orders. Discussions with their manufacturer aim to use surplus ingredients in other products to reduce waste.
Papermoon launched in November 2024 and conducts ongoing check-ins with suppliers in manufacturing, warehousing, freight, banking and eCommerce to ensure alignment with their vision of best practices in social responsibility. They have partnered with Carbon Positive Australia to offset emissions and support habitat restoration in Australia, despite being a small family-owned startup. The brand is also working towards B-Corp certification.

Product Reviews by Experts

The packaging alone deserves applause- thoughtfully designed to be beautiful, functional and sustainable. Housed in a bright yellow paper tube adorned with an artistic bare-body silhouette, this sandalwood-scented oil stick is as easy to apply as it is to love. It glides on smoothly, absorbs effortlessly and leaves no waste behind- just soft skin and good memories. I can’t wait to explore the rest of Papermoon’s range; every product feels like a fun, planet-friendly gift waiting to be shared. This small, family-owned startup only launched in 2024, but they’re already making all the right waves. The entire range is packaged in plastic-free, compostable paper tubes that are also recyclable- an impressive commitment to sustainable personal care. Even more inspiring, they are carbon positive and actively working toward becoming B-Corp certified. A young brand with big values and a clear sense of purpose.

I’m honestly so impressed with this product. It arrived quickly and with minimal packaging, everything was in perfect condition. The product packaging itself is really pretty; clean, simple, and has all the info you need without being cluttered. I was surprised at how well the oil went on. It absorbed beautifully and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy at all. You only need a tiny bit, which I wasn’t expecting from an oil, it really goes a long way. The sandalwood scent is gorgeous; subtle, warm and comforting. My skin felt super hydrated, especially now that it’s winter and usually more dry than usual. I’ll definitely be buying this again when I run out. Such a lovely product all around! 10/10 I love that they are completely vegan and cruelty-free, with everything made locally in Melbourne. Compostable and plastic-free packaging is amazing and even their shipping materials are recyclable. Clean ingredients are a huge plus in my book, no harsh chemicals or aluminium.

Great product in an easy to use format. It’s oily, but in a good way and makes it easy to apply. It feels like a cross between a balm and an oil. The sandalwood scent is beautiful and not too floral, so it would suit lots of different people. Packaging is great too! For a small brand, they’ve done a lot. From solar power and bike deliveries to compostable packaging and supplier reviews, you can tell they’re serious about reducing their footprint. Offsetting freight emissions is a great touch too.
