The Curious Cabinet sources ingredients locally and uses "seconds" fruit that other businesses reject due to their appearance. Their focus is on ethical practices.

Sustainable

The Curious Cabinet has a low waste philosophy and makes use of the fruit strained from their Lime Shrub Syrup by creating an entire range of Preserves and Dusts. This aligns with their sustainability efforts to use as much of their ingredients as possible.

Responsible

The Curious Cabinet focuses on low waste production, avoiding plastic in postage and delivery by using shredded cardboard and reusing bubble wrap if received in a delivery. Their syrups and preserves are packaged in glass bottles, while their dusts are packaged in aluminium tins. They operate a factory connected to solar energy and do not use gas.

I like that it packs a zing and adds flair to dishes and cocktails. I can see cocktail bars and sous chefs in top restaurants enjoying adding the lime dust to their creations. I also love that the Curious Cabinet upcycle food that would have otherwise gone to waste (reducing greenhouse gas emissions) and that they use solar energy and don’t use gas in their production lines!

This is a great idea to reuse ingredients to fancy up your drinks, desserts and other sweet things. Easy to dust and looks great too! I also love the concept of re-using food that would otherwise be wasted to make delicious new foods.
