Bosisto’s requires staff and suppliers to adhere to obligations and expectations regarding human rights standards, ethical sourcing and sustainable procurement. Bosisto’s sources 100% Australian eucalyptus oil for its laundry and cleaning range, grown and harvested locally at its plantations in Inglewood, Victoria.
Sustainable Practices
Bosisto’s sources eucalyptus oil from over 4 million planted trees, using a process where harvested trees regrow and residual biomass fuels the distillery. Packaging initiatives include removing spouts from laundry liquids, increasing recycled content, adopting recyclable triggers and using the Australasian Recycling Label, resulting in significant plastic waste reduction. A 99kW solar PV system supplies 17% of production and office energy and all cardboard waste is converted into packing material for ecommerce orders.
Social Impact
Bosisto’s has supported natural disaster recovery by donating pallets of products and cash to flood and bushfire affected areas, as well as to wildlife rescue organisations. The brand sponsors the Wedderburn Conservation Management Network’s Nesting Box Project to help protect endangered native animals. It supports Indigenous communities through a yearly academic prize at Worowa Aboriginal College, regular donations to Bunjilwarra Koori youth rehab centre and a partnership with the William Cooper Institute at Monash University to provide two annual academic prizes for Indigenous students.
