Ethical Practices
Comfy Koalas sources materials from Japan, Germany and China, with nappy pants constructed by a specialist manufacturer in Fujian Province, China, selected after personal factory inspections for their ethical workplace practices and environmental certifications, including FSC. The brand uses Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) independently certified ingredients, ensuring transparent and traceable supply chains. Nappy pants are independently tested by SGS Labs, EUROFINS Australia and DermaTest and have been community tested ‘safe’ by the Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA).
Sustainable Practices
Comfy Koalas produces nappy pants made from mostly renewable and biodegradable materials, with over 80% plant-based content, primarily bamboo and uses chlorine-free wood pulp. The brand offers 100% certified home compostable packaging made from GMO-free corn starch, developed with Cardia and has prevented over one million plastic packages from being created. Comfy Koalas holds FSC Certification for sustainable sourcing and works exclusively with Certified B Corps focused on supporting sustainable businesses.
Social Impact
Comfy Koalas donated 25,000 nappies in 2025 to the Nappy Collective, supporting mums affected by natural disasters, domestic violence and hardship, bringing their total donation to 389,000 nappies. The brand collaborated with NSW hospitals to develop bespoke premature nappies for NICUs, aiming to provide gentler, plant-based options for vulnerable babies.
