What a stunning print! I love that the artwork used for the print is by Indigenous artist Nene Mitchell and that Mama Movement shares the details about each artist whose art they license. I’ve had many people compliment it already! It adds well-needed colour to rainy days. I’ve also worn the raincoat on a very rainy walk, and it performed superbly – I was nice and dry when I got home. It’s also a great fit (I have the XS and there’s still room for me to add a winter layer or two underneath), and the zippable pockets are a nice feature to have. As someone who is passionate about reducing waste and protecting the environment, what stands out is that this raincoat is made from 100% REPREVE certified recycled fibre and that it’s PFAS-free. A huge win. I hope to enjoy this raincoat for decades to come! A huge YAY to ethical manufacturing, BSCI auditing, and the OEKO-TEX certification! I love that the materials also have the REPREVE Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and OEKO-TEX certifications. It helps to know that this ethical and sustainable standard is carried throughout the supply and manufacturing processes. As a brand that celebrates women, it’s also great to see that this celebration and support isn’t just exclusive to their customers, and that it extends to the artists they work with and to the women they employ. What a pleasure to have discovered this beautiful brand through the Clean + Conscious Awards!
I’m super impressed by this raincoat! The finishings on it are super considered, from its sturdy zippers and elasticated cuffs, to its generously sized hood and encased pockets. This is a raincoat you can live in. I love how lightweight and transportable it is, while still being waterproof and windproof. A great transseasonal item. As a bonus, I appreciate that the packaging it arrives in can be reused as a laundry bag. The material make-up of this product is to be applauded, especially how its lining is also made from recycled plastic. I also admire Mama Movement’s repair initiative, it’s great to see this aspect of circularity being embraced. The social responsibility of artist collaborations is also honourable, with clear licensing agreements ensuring artists get paid fairly and transparently.
This raincoat is one I genuinely enjoy wearing. It’s properly waterproof, yet still feels light and comfortable, and the longer length gives it a really flattering shape. The artwork is fabulous and makes this piece so much fun to wear. I also appreciate Mama Movement’s thoughtful approach to using recycled materials, supporting Australian female artists and creating products that are made to last.
