Product Reviews by Experts

OutbackTales has very strong branding and a unique visual aesthetic with well thought out double sided print packaging and box. The appearance and colour of this product really stood out in terms of uniqueness. The ethos of the product (and place of origin on Country) was really reflected through its visual appearance and Australian iconography. This one was popular with the pup straight away, who was quite beguiled by it and was carrying it around. The point of difference in visual appearance and clear ties with Indigenous communities were appealing. The brands ethical and sustainable statement was very impressive. Not only are Kezza toys made of sustainable ingredients (wool and natural dyes) but also implement the innovative re-use of a plastic bottle. Perhaps the thing that stood out the most was the full 360 approach that was taken in terms of labor and social impact when it came to this brand. The integration with two Indigenous communities, Animal Wildlife Fund and also “Desert Dogs” left no stones unturned in terms of labor. I also was very impressed by the local onshore creation of this and real life testing in Newcastle.

This toy is soooo cute! My dog loves squeaky, crinkly toys but he’s also a bit of a chewer. Kezza the kangaroo has held up well and is in high rotation in our household. Outback Tail’s support for communities and causes I care about makes me want to support their business even more. Seeing repurposed and natural materials used this way is super cool!

Was surprising how quickly our frenchie took to this. She really enjoyed thrashing it around during the day but we found on multiple occasions it was in her bed at night and she would lick and sleep on it. Definitely doing something right with this!!!! The design and use of natural and recycled materials is always a big win. I was also impressed with the 10% donation of sales to awc. The fact that it is essentially a biodegradable material is something that stands above the rest!
